Hey!
We're 12 days in and nearing the half way mark of month one. How's everyone doing so far?
We've seen some people sharing their progress on social media and would love to see more - please post a picture or video of you hitting your squat or reading your book (or both if you want to get a gold star!). Just knowing that the rest of us are working towards a common goal is where our strength lies so please don't hesitate to show your efforts.
If you haven't had a chance to get cracking yet this month, don't fret, there's plenty of time left. All you need is 7 consecutive days of squatting (only 5min per day!) and the book is a quick and easy read if you want to crush that as well. Do what you can to start the year strong and know that you've got the rest of your Collective doing the same.
As an aside, we're already sitting at 47 strong in the Health Collective as of today! That's incredible. We love the buy-in we've seen so far and are hoping to keep growing this thing as we go. Please keep bringing friends, family, co-workers, strangers - whoever - into our family. This tribe has no limits.
Also, our first group outing is fast approaching. Next Sunday, January 23rd at 10am (rain or shine) for a 10km ruck.
We will be meeting at the end of Sunningdale East - take it as far east as you can go, past Clarke road and you won't miss us.
This isn't meant to be gruelling - we will get to the more physically/mentally demanding group workouts as the year goes on. The point of this first one is just to come out, meet some of your fellow Health Collective members and put in the steps.
You can do this with just your body weight but we encourage people to wear extra resistance if you can find it (ruck sac, weight vest, backpack with books, hell, strap a kid on your back if you've got one). The pace won't be blistering but this isn't a casual 'sip your Starbucks and stroll through the park' speed - we'll try and push it a bit so come ready to get your heart rate up a touch.
As always, if you have any questions, please make them known as we'd love to have as many people out as possible. We don't require a specific head count here but would love to know if you can make it out so let us know. And again, the more the merrier, there is no cap.
Looking forward to seeing more of you on IG and in the forum feed and of course, on the following Sunday for our group outing.
Keep fighting the good fight,
Dave & Gord 💪
